Definitions

1. Subcultures exist within dominant cultures, and are often based on economic or social class, ethnicity, race, or  geographic region.(textbook P.27)

2. Co-culture refers to groups or social communities exibiting communicaiton characteristics, perceptions, values, beliefs and practices that are significantly differ enugh to distinguish them from the other groups, communities, and the dominant culture.(textbook P.28)
