Explaining the Meanings of Idioms
Learning a new language is always difficult, but when language is used in a non-literal way, it becomes even more difficult.
Idioms are expressions (or words) that have a different meaning to the ones usually associated with the individual words. English is very rich in idioms — which is one of the beauties of the language, but can also cause difficulties for language learners. Paragraph H of the text introduces three idiomatic expressions.
